WHEN LIFE FALLS APART |God is Already Rebuilding
Growing up in Michigan, I feared sudden storms.
If I ever forgot what a tornado could do, I only had to look out the window at a concrete slab where an old outbuilding used to be. The slightest breeze on a cloudy day had me running for cover.
Sadly, storms are a fact of life we can't control.
When unexpected darkness appears on the horizon, it rattles our souls.
We watch as the mountains we depended on shake, familiar hills are flattened, and life's landscape changes overnight.
Worse, we can't do a darn thing about it.
But we have a Savior who can.
Jesus never flinches from the storms in our lives. He made the earth. He holds the heavens. He is not rattled by what rattles us.
Jesus sees the full weight of what we're up against and doesn't turn away.
Just as He viewed His beloved, storm-battered Jerusalem with compassion, Jesus speaks tenderly over your situation today — "O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted."
He knows how you've been losing sleep. He doesn't want you to worry.
Even if the world gives way, God's love is firmly wrapped around you. He will hold you together.
Shaking mountains and crumbling hills don't signal the end. They announce a new beginning.
"For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken, says the LORD, who has mercy on you." Isaiah 54:10
When everything falls away, it's making a way for the Lord to move. After the dust settles, you'll see His hand already at work.
Because what the enemy marked for destruction, God plans to rebuild.
Your faithful, loving Father will spare no expense on His storm-tossed child.
Your restoration was planned long before the storm ever hit. God set the finest resources aside.
Stones of turquoise. Foundations of sapphires. Battlements of rubies.
No more flimsy doors. No more temporary fixes.
Coming or going, you will confidently pass through God’s favor, for He's assigned gates made of sparkling jewels to secure your dwelling place.
What God builds within you will never be destroyed.
So when the winds pick up, let them blow. Don’t worry.
We see a concrete slab; God sees a firm foundation.
No storm on earth can destroy His plans; He’ll make a way through the rubble and build His unshakable, unbreakable kingdom in you.
